Welcome! If you’re invested in a future Government that breaks the status quo and works for All of Us instead of select pockets of society, then you’re in the right place.

Kelby

In a world of political turmoil fueled by corporate-induced corruption and cronyism, petty partisanship, establishment-sponsored status quos, and general disregard of the real issues facing real citizens in our communities, here is a candidate who dares to offer something different. Our system of government is a Democracy, not a Plutocracy. Wealth shouldn’t be the defining factor of anyone’s candidacy. When we restore morals over money and principles over absolute power in politics, then we are headed in the right direction. It is the People who hold the power of our electorate, and it is their interests whom our leaders should represent. I believe that justice should be tempered by mercy, that legislation should take better consideration of the future impact of these laws, and that our leadership needs to stand up for what’s right or step down to allow new voices to rise. When we don’t listen to our citizens, we become out of touch with what’s really going on in our communities. We become oblivious to the true plights of our people. This campaign is about passionate pursuit of solutions to problems and healing the aches that plague our communities through hope. I am Hicks for Opportunity, Progress and Empowerment, and I am the people’s candidate for NC House of Representatives District-27.

About the Candidate

Since moving to NC, Kelby has committed himself to a life of servant leadership and using his credentials and principles to create change in our society. He is a product of Northampton County, NC, with roots in farming and agriculture on both sides of his family. Groomed by educators, engineers, and lawyers; Kelby understands the value of investing in development of our citizens & communities, he shares the vision necessary to build ideas into conception & make them work, and he also understands the legal implications of decisions in order to be a more effective advocate.

Kelby has worked in corporate America, worked in legal environments, and volunteered in classrooms and communities.  He has seen and experienced the problems that continue to plague our communities, and he understands the ongoing obligations needed to fully develop our potential. Most importantly, Kelby believes in the promise that lies within the Northeastern part of our state. Ask Kelby why he’s running for office in spite of the broken system which he’ll be expected to navigate and he’ll say, “I have hope that the future of our citizens and communities will look a lot brighter if we put the work in today to be the change we wish to see in the world.”

I am HOPE that we can work together to heal the A.C.H.E.E.s in our communities…
